I am Spiritual Hedonist

I am a spiritual hedonist. I believe that pleasure is the language of the soul. That am here on earth to feel good. To feel great. To rock this human experience and bathe in the wonder that is life. This is the true purpose. To love what is here. To love all that is. To enjoy myself to epic proportions. When I experience pleasure, I experience the truth of who I am. I know that I am on task. In deep alignment with the glorious essence of the universe.

Feeling good is not a band aid for the hurts. It is not simply the absence of pain. It is the not the quick fix, as nothing is broken. It is connection to the stardust depths that make up each and every one of us. It is a tapping into the all that is and knowing the joy of creation. Pleasure is always in my highest good. It does not steer me wrong, as it is the way my divine lets me know that we are walking together.

I choose to act on what is most delicious. What feels the absolute best. That is my guide in life. In business. In connections. I do not run willy nilly, pushing others down, going for the glory. There is no pleasure there. Pleasure comes from the deep love shared. From serving. From sharing who I am. From creating art everywhere I go.

I do not run from pain. I love it. Yes, love it. When parts inside of me are hurting, I love them. Without reason or condition. I simply love them. I do not poke or prod. I do not attempt to mend the imagined wounds over and over. I love. That is what these parts are aching for. A return to their nature state where life feels wonderful. Where they remember that they are a soul expressing themselves in human form and if they desire, it all gets to be freaking amazing.

Following my pleasure leads me to my heart. To my purpose. To source. It is also more fun than anything I could ever imagine. In that space, ease flows. Grace happens. The Universe supports me in getting more and more of the goodness. When I make feeling wonderful the priority, I connect to my truth. I feel the divinity pouring out of every being that I have the privilege to encounter... myself included. It doesn’t get much better than that. And if it does, I’ll let my pleasure guide me there.

Jo Anna~ I was so inspired by your words that it reminded me dearly of one of my favorite sentiments by the Dalai Lama,
“I believe that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It helps remove whatever fears or insecurities we may have and gives us the strength to cope with any obstacles we encounter. It is the principal source of success in life. Since we are not solely material creatures, it is a mistake to place all our hopes for happiness on external development alone. The key is to develop inner peace.”

Great post! I'm an artist and sometimes that hurts too. I look at your writing and think: instead of taking the hurt and getting emotional about it, do something about it. Thanks. It helped me with another perspective.
